Which subject to take as your fourth
The NMT has three compulsory subjects – Ukrainian, mathematics, history of Ukraine – and one elective. For “Optics”, take physics. Among the electives it carries the highest weight in the admission score for physics programmes, and it is also the most honest self-check before your first year: if school physics interests you, this place will too. The exact weight coefficients are approved every year in the Admission Rules – check them at vstup.knu.ua.
Which documents you will need
The application is submitted electronically, so most of the data you simply enter in your applicant account at vstup.edbo.gov.ua: your email address, the series and number of your education certificate, the number and PIN of your NMT certificate, your passport data or taxpayer number.
If you apply on paper – the specific cases are listed in the Admission Rules – you will need the originals for inspection and copies to attach:
- the certificate of complete secondary education and its supplement
- the NMT certificate
- an identity document
- a military registration document – for those liable for military service
- documents confirming the right to special admission conditions, if applicable
- four colour photographs, 3×4 cm
The list comes from the university admission board’s guidance. It rarely changes, but the definitive version is always in the current year’s Admission Rules.
