Partnership with Chemnitz University of Technology (Germany) under grants of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD)
A short research internship in Chemnitz for master’s students – with travel costs reimbursed. The student works in a German research group on their own topic and often brings home a ready chapter of their master’s thesis.
With the same university the department runs certificate programmes in English – Advanced Microscopy Techniques and Advanced Functional Materials, 10 ECTS credits each.

Cooperation agreements with the European X-Ray Free-Electron Laser Facility
The European XFEL near Hamburg is the world’s most powerful X-ray free-electron laser: a three-kilometre tunnel and pulses a few femtoseconds long that let you film the “movie” of a chemical reaction at the level of individual atoms.
The agreement gives our students and doctoral candidates access to internships at this facility – a chance to work on equipment that Ukraine does not have and will not have.

Cooperation agreements with Shizuoka University (Japan)
An exchange of young researchers and a double degree programme. The partnership with our Japanese colleagues goes back a long way: researchers from Japan regularly visit the department, and Shizuoka University is among the co-organisers of our SPO symposium.
